Born in Raleigh, NC, attended the McCallie School, Chattanooga TN, Valley Forge Military Academy, Wayne, PA and graduated from Ravenscroft High School in Raleigh, NC. I received a B.A. in Business Administration and a Minor in Economics from Campbell University and have practiced Commercial Real Estate in Raleigh (RTP), Richmond, Baltimore, Washington and of course, Wilmington. During this time I have had the opportunity to gain valuable experience in just about all facets of Commercial Real Estate, i.e.…general brokerage, property management, development, leasing, site selection and marketing.

On June 25, 2001 Harley & Associates Commercial Real Estate, Inc. was incorporated and opened for business on August 20, 2001 at 108 Giles Avenue in Wilmington, NC.

In March 2003, Harley & Associates relocated its corporate office to 398 Carl Street, Suite 101, Wilmington, NC 28403. From the time of its relocation the firm has completed more than 425 commercial real estate transactions (Sales and Leases).

Tom Wolfe enjoyed a very successful career in the retail industry before retiring as President and CEO, The Bombay Company-Canada. Starting his career in public accounting (Deloitte & Touche), his financial acumen has been the cornerstone in evaluating acquisitions, investment strategies, business brokerages and financial projections. He has participated in various real estate transactions exceeding $500,000,000.

Having negotiated hundreds of various types of property transactions including purchases, selling and leases (office, retail, industrial and land), he is well aware of the needs and requirements of all parties in the process. His broad based national and international experience qualifies him to evaluate most retail opportunities, including franchising for conventional, outlet malls and stand alone locations. As a consulting CEO, he has successfully spearheaded turnarounds of several large companies, either in bankruptcy or reorganization, leaving them profitable entities.

Tom has been an active participant in over 600 retail acquisitions from a single store to a 160 chain. He has been a frequent convention lecturer for International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and he is recognized in the industry as a qualified real estate professional. Tom is a member of CCIM Institute (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and serves as Treasurer, Board of REALTORS Commercial Alliance of Southeastern North Carolina, and Chair, New Hanover County ABC Board.

Phil began his career in 1970 with Xerox Corp in Los Angeles, California, first as a Sales executive, then promoted to Sales Manager and finally assumed position of National Account Manager for the State of Alaska in Juneau, then to Anchorage until 1983.

In 1978, Phil received his Real Estate Sales license and associated with Polar Realty, specializing in Income properties and Land Partnerships and two years later, he passed his Brokers exam with the required 2 years of experience necessary to sit for the exam.

Phil moved to Richmond Virginia in 1983 to assume the position of State Director with Prison Fellowship, working with the 43 prisons to allow various programs sponsored by local churches, including finding jobs upon release. Phil was then promoted to Director of Management and Budget at PF headquarters in Northern Virginia until he moved to Wilmington North Carolina in 1986.

Since 1986 to present, Phil has been a Broker, once again specializing in Land Partnerships, Income Property Investments and was awarded as a member of The Society of Industrial and Office Realtor in 1995 by passing various courses and attaining a certain level of continuous sales and leasing production.

After being Broker in Charge of Phil Kraus & Associates, Phil joined Commercial Realty before becoming a part of the Harley team and presently is involved in land partnerships in Brunswick County and various investments throughout New Hanover County and the surrounding area.

Monty has been active in commercial real estate since 1988. He began building and leasing flex space in Greensboro, N.C. before relocating to Wilmington. Since 2007, Monty has been with Harley & Associates in sales and leasing, focusing on multi-family and industrial sales. For 35 years Monty’s career was owner and operator of Greensboro Vending & Coffee Company. This background enables him to better understand the needs of the commercial real estate client, whether buying, selling or leasing.

Monty also holds 2 Engineering degrees from N.C. State and Georgia Tech.

Monty has two grown children and a new baby granddaughter.

I was born in Fayetteville, N.C. and graduated from Guilford College with a BA in Business Administration and a minor in Psychology.  I have been a Real Estate Broker since 1978. I worked for John F. Kennedy Real Estate and Townsend Real Estate in Fayetteville before opening my own firm, Gary L. Mendelsohn Real Estate from 2005 to 2012.  I was also the Owner/Operator of Cumberland Furniture, Inc. from 1987 through 1999.
